🎟️ Resume: The online workshop organised by the AURA project is a unique opportunity for researchers and university administration to present initiatives of the research assessment from a narrow focus on publications and grants to a broader set of activities, principles and values. The workshop focuses on an introduction to open science and research assessment, providing in-depth knowledge and skills in integrating open science into the research system and discussing the stimuli for it.

Speakers

Dr Birgit Schmidt is Head of Knowledge Commons at Göttingen State and University Library, with a focus on policies, e-infrastructures and training. In addition, she contributes to several international committees as a co-chair or group member (e.g. in the context of LIBER, the Research Data Alliance, Knowledge Exchange and formerly the Belmont Forum). Previously, she was Scientific Manager of the European OpenAIRE project and Executive Director of the Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR). Her background is in Mathematics and Philosophy, with a postgraduate degree in Library and Information Science.

Prof. Dr. Ana Proykova, Doctor Habil, a Full Professor for Atomic and Molecular Physics at the University of Sofia is the Head of the High Performance Computing Laboratory at the Sofia Tech Park and the Science Director of the established Centre of Excellence "Universities for ScieNce, Informatics and Technologies in the e-Society - UNITe".In her professional career she worked at universities around the world, including Belgium, Germany, Israel, Italy, the USA, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan. She has over 40 years of experience in the field of computational physics with achievements in phase transitions of low-dimensional systems, simulation techniques and data analysis using HPC technologies.

Dr. Milena Damyanova is Director of the Science Directorate in the Ministry of Science and Education. She has a long experience as a researcher at the Plasma Physics and Engineering Laboratory, Institute of Electronics - BAS in Sofia, Bulgaria. Her expertise lies in intermolecular potentials, thermophysical properties of gases and mixtures, plasma physics, and computer modelling. She holds a Ph.D. in Physics of Atoms and Molecules from BAS and two MSc degrees from Sofia University.

Prof. Kostadin Kostadinov is a Bulgarian scientist in the field of robotics and mechatronics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS). He served as Deputy Minister of Education from 2014 to 2016 and as an advisor to the Minister of Education from 2017 to 2021. Prof. Kostadinov has over 100 publications, 20 patents, and numerous awards. His research focuses on robotics, micro- and nanotechnologies, and biology. He is a co-founder of the company "Mikrona" and works as a technology transfer and innovation expert for the "GIS-TransferCenter" foundation. On November 18, 2022, his name was inscribed in the "Golden Book," which recognises Bulgaria's most distinguished inventors and innovators.
